1 nabbed, 3 injured in
minor clash between Myanmar residents, police
A Myanmar national was arrested
and at least three people were injured Saturday in a minor clash between
Myanmar residents in Japan and police in front of the Myanmar Embassy in
Tokyo's Shinagawa Ward, police and firefighters said.
The 41-year-old Myanmar man was arrested
for beating a police officer as about 150 Myanmar residents in Japan
gathered in front of the embassy to demand their rights for expatriate
voting on a bill for a new Myanmar constitution and then clashed with
the police. About 200 riot police were mobilized to the embassy.
